Rebecca Penniston – Artist, Quilter, & Story Teller Rebecca is a local PA artist. She attended DePauw University (in Greencastle, IN), where she received a Liberal Arts degree with a major in Ceramics. She is inspired by the bold & whimsical works of Freddie Moran and Mary Lou Weidman. She opened her RazBeca Etsy shop in 2021, where she began selling quilting patterns, appliqué pages, and more. Every RazBeca pattern includes a background story about the featured bird or animal! How fun is that?

Sample Quilt. Whether you are a beginner quilter or someone who needs to get back to the basics, this is the comprehensive class for you. We will talk about fabric selection, tools, and learn the step-by-step process of cutting, piecing and creating a quilt top. Nine different basic blocks, sashing, border, and binding techniques will be taught in this class. You will be well on your way in the world of quilting at the end of this class. There is “homework” for this class. This is a 4-session class. Each class is 3 hours long. You will have a pieced quilt top at the end of this class if you can do the homework in between the classes. Machine rental for the series is $20. You may use the shop machines or use your own.

Seth Apter is a media artist, instructor, designer, shopkeep, and author from New York City. He came to the world of art later in life, transitioning from a full-time career as a psychologist to being a full-time artist and maker. My artistic practice is based on the concepts of community and collaboration, and I believe in the power of art to bring people together. His work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions and is featured in numerous books and national magazines. He has published two books of my own, The Pulse of Mixed Media and The Mixed-Media Artist, with North Light Books. My love of the creative energy that occurs when artists are brought together has led me to spend a great deal of time teaching workshops - both online and in person across the world. As a designer, I have created collections with many companies over the years, currently collaborating with Aurifil, Sizzix, FreeSpirit Fabrics, StencilGirl Products, PaperArtsy, and WOW. Art for me is everything and sharing the process in all these different forms makes it even better.

We are excited to announce that Jacqueline de Jong is teaching her 4-Day masterclass for us at the Eden Suites in Lancaster, PA. The techniques in the class will apply to her kits of Luna, Miss Daisy & Miss Dottie, Dancing Dragonflies, Fairy Dance, and BeColourful Colorstories. You can check out her kits at https://www.becolourful.com/happiness-20.html. Kits to be ordered in January 2026. Book into the Eden Suite room block by April 2026, for the discounted room rate of $195.00 per night for a king or a queen-bed room. The class with Jacqueline is 9-5, but the room will be set up to enable sewing 24 hours. The four-day class is June 29, June 30, July 1st, and July 2nd. Primrose Quilts will host a small reception for the attendees (optional) the night before the class on June 28th from 6-8 PM at their Georgetown Shop. A down payment of $100 is required to hold a seat. Full payment is due 30 days before the class. Due to the popularity of the event, the class sign-ups will only be in the shop. We will also have a wait list. Skill Level: Intermediate

If you want to take your piecing to the next level, this block-of-the-month program is for you. The project is designed to help you move your piecing skills to an intermediate level and learn Studio 180 techniques. In making this quilt, we explore the possibilities of the Tucker Trimmer, Wing Clipper, Square Squared, and Corner Beam tools. Each class will meet at the shop on a Sunday afternoon starting on September 13th, 2026. This class is a ten-lesson series that runs from September 2026 to June 2027.
