If you want to take your piecing to the next level, this block-of-the-month program is for you. The project is designed to help you move your piecing skills to an intermediate level and learn Studio 180 techniques. In making this quilt, we explore the possibilities of the Tucker Trimmer, Wing Clipper, Square Squared, and Corner Beam tools. Each class will meet at the shop on a Sunday afternoon starting on January 10, 2027. This class is a ten-lesson series that runs from January 2027 to December 2027.

We will talk about fabric selection, tools, and learn the step-by-step process of cutting, piecing and creating a quilt top. Nine different basic blocks, sashing, and border techniques will be taught in this class. You will be well on your way in the world of quilting at the end of this class. There is “homework” for this class. This is a 4-session class. Each class is 3 hours long. You will have a pieced quilt top at the end of this class if you do the homework in between the classes. Machine rental for the series is $20. You may use the shop machines or use your own.

The event starts on Thursday night with a trunk show followed by a one-day class on Friday, March 19th.

Hanging by a Thread/ Seth Apter In this one-day workshop, the attendee combines fabric and paper to create a multi-layered wall hanging. To create this piece, we will be collaging, stenciling, stamping, and stitching. As you add each individual element, it all comes together to create a unique mixed media assemblage that requires the viewer to become one and interact with the art. In the process, you will learn new approaches to mixed media and techniques that you can apply to your creative practice.

Usually, students have good prior knowledge of BeColourful patterns and are enthusiastic about learning more about BeColourful techniques. Complicated constructions are demonstrated, and you usually get personal help if needed. There is time to ask questions and share knowledge, both among the students themselves and with Jacqueline. And of course there is also time for laughter and socializing.
