Rope Bowl Class

Want to learn how to make your own decorative rope bowl? This beginner’s rope class will teach you the basics to get you started. You will learn how to coil your base, measure the rope, determine the width of your bowl, and angle your hands to make the sides. We will discuss strategies for adding decorative features, tensioning the feeding rope, and finishing the bowl. This class is designed to teach you the basic techniques so that you can become addicted to it, as Brice has.
Supply List:
Working Sewing Machine (can be rented in the shop for $20)
Open Toe ZigZag foot
Jeans needle: 100/16
Scissors - for thread and rope
Glue Stick
Thread: Aurifil 50wt or Superior Thread Natural color will match the rope, you can use colored if you
prefer. This will be used for upper/lower thread.
Optional: ½” cut strips of fabric
You will need to purchase a 25 yard bundle of rope.

Instructor Bio: | Brice Wonders is new to quilting but not to fiber arts. For the last year, Brice has taken a deep dive into quilting. He is from Oxford, PA, and ran an online handspun yarn retail business. He will sell his yarn in the shop. (Check them out. They are beautiful.) Brice will teach Rope Bowls and Jelly Roll placemats.
