Wings of Freedom
Wings of Freedom is a unique quilt pattern designed by Karen Walker of Laugh Yourself into Stitches. Traditional piecing yet whimsical in style. Karen comes to us from Oregon, and she loves everything related to textiles… from designing fabrics and quilt patterns, piecing quilts, teaching classes, and longarming for clients. She also loves sharing my passion through Trunk Shows and Workshops.
The event will kick off with a trunk show on Thursday night, followed by a piecing class on Friday. The focus is on small and intricate piecing while making a beautiful design.

Each participant will receive a kit. Price of the kit will be determined in January, but is estimated to be $80-110. The fabric is Riley Blake designer Lori Holt.
Each participant will need to bring:
1 spool of a neutral confetti cotton thread
Scissors
Seam ripper
Machines can be used that are in the shop or participants can bring their owwn.
| Instructor Bio: | I designed Wings of Freedom with the America 250 Celebration in mind… but the eagles hold a very special meaning for me. My father died almost 2 years ago at home on our family farm. I walked the farm quite often and a couple months prior to his death, i was visited by 3 eagles more than once or twice. It was curious to me because there were always 3. The morning my dad passed away, 8 eagles circled over his home. At the time his body was taken from the house, 3 eagles broke away from the rest and followed him down the driveway. My dad was a humble farmer, and this was a majestic send-off! This may sound like a made-up story, but it truly was a very personal moment, making the name Wings of Freedom a gift to my father. Wings of Freedom is all traditionally pieced. No special rulers needed. The pattern has multiple diagrams with clear instructions. Measures 54” x 54” but can easily be made into a runner, individual pillows, or whatever suits you!
